Chet Baker

Day 72
#53 – Chesney Henry ‘Chet’ Baker, Jr. (1929–1988). American jazz trumpeter, flugelhornist and singer. Albums include: The Best of Chet Baker Sings (1956), Mulligan-Baker (1965) and Blues for a Reason (1984).

Listening to his music, it often sounds beautiful, delicate and fine. In many ways a contrast to his personal life; Baker struggled with heroin addiction for much of his life. And by all accounts it contributed to his death. I went for a fine delicate typeface made of dots to reflect the playing and his addiction. By removing some of the dots I wanted to convey the affect of the drug on his life.
