George Gershwin

Day 87
#80 – George Gershwin (1898–1937). American composer and pianist. Compositions include: Rhapsody in Blue (1924), An American in Paris (1928) and Porgy and Bess (1935) which includes the song ‘Summertime’.

Listening to Rhapsody in Blue, it always reminds me of New York, Skyscrapers and the tops of buildings (too much Woody Allen maybe). Much of his most famous music was composed in the 1920s so I first selected a suitable typeface. Then looked at ways of giving the impression of skyscrapers.
